The hedges that define the border our neighborhood along Marsh and Webb Chapel are in awful shape. Some were removed by the City and some have been dead for quite some time. It's an embarrassing eye sore, and the City needs to replace what was once a defining characteristic of our area.
Why are there construction projects that have been allowed to sit for years with nothing done? Why are we allowing boats RVs and campers to be parked in driveways? Let's keep our neighborhood looking sharp!
Our property taxes have sky rocketed over the last few years, and its time to explore other streams of revenue. That could be city owned boat and RV storage, that could be allowing liquor sales. What ever it is let's look for other options.
We've all seen the revitalization this program has done for Farmers Branch. Our rising property values are largely a direct result of this initiative, and as a result of the increasing values many of the homes now don't qualify for this incentive. We need to rework and expand this program to continue our current trajectory.
Our district contributes the greatest amount of property taxes in the city. It's fitting that some of that money be used to improve the over all aesthetic of our neighborhood. Our streets need to be repaved, our entryways are underwhelming, and we should have street sign toppers that designate the Brookhaven Neighborhood.
We have a new park that glows in the dark, except I don't know any parents that take their kids to the park at night. We've spent many millions on walking trails... have you ever used them? Meanwhile we have an aging water system, and our sewers need a massive overhaul. We can't fix these things over night, but we can use our tax dollars on things that matter.
